Course Resources

Resources to be utilized during the Academy semesters and beyond include asynchronous interactive learning and the Vermont Interactive Learning Network. Given that these systems are already in place in Leland and Gray and several other schools in Vermont, they are viewed as an ideal vehicle for gaining and sharing information and instruction about areas of interest within Asian studies.

In addition, guest lecturers and artists will be invited from the University of Vermont, Marlboro College, Wesleyan University and the Five Colleges in western Massachusetts to further Academy students’ study of Asia and it cultures.

Leland and Gray’s library continues to expand its collection of source material in Asian studies as a resource for Journey East participants and, in fact, the entire Leland and Gray community. The students in the Academy will also travel to see Asian exhibits and performances in New York, Boston, Hanover, Albany, Northampton, Keene, for example.

Lastly, a major resource for this project will naturally be University of Vermont’s accomplished Asian Studies Outreach Program.
